It can outrun practically anything it can't outgun. This ability adds to its reputation as one of the most effective medium 'Mechs in operation. |Strengths=A quick unit with outstanding agility, the Hellhound's strengths lie in its ability to engage and destroy much larger units where its turn rate can be used to best advantage. Fully capable of assuming the role of Irritant or Insurgent roles, with the firepower necessary to fight its way out of a tough spot. Its ECM helps it approach closely without being detected and its Laser AMS, along with its decent speed, gives it some protection in open areas. It is also heavily armored in relation to other mechs in its weight class, allowing it to better absorb the punishment that close range brawling generates. |Weaknesses=With the exception of ECM, the standard Light Amplification and Laser AMS, the Hellhound carries no specialized equipment. This limits its use as a scout, but does nothing to detract from its primary role as an insurgent. Its light weight and Ballistic heavy allocation means that most Hellhounds will have weak leg armor, targeting these prevents the unit from playing to its strengths, which is close combat. Balanced weapons load makes removing the arms an ineffective tactic, and center torso shots, where the cockpit may be damaged are recommended. Even with its high armor protection, the Hellhound will not absorb a great deal of damage. It can dish out surprising damage however, and steps must be taken to ensure it does not deeply penetrate defensive lines. |Acceleration=34.72 |Best Acceleration=34.72 m/sec Hellhound |Worst Acceleration=5.75 m/sec Hollander II |Deceleration=52.08 |Best Deceleration=52.08 m/sec Hellhound |Worst Deceleration=8.27 m/sec Hollander II |Turn Rate=1.22 |Best Turn Rate=1.32 º/sec |Worst Turn Rate=0.79 º/sec |Twist Speed=70 |Best Twist Speed=90 º/sec |Worst Twist Speed=60º Battle Cobra |Elevation=40 |Best Elevation=80º Black Jack II |Worst Elevation=30º |Heat Capacity=49.7 |Best Heat Capacity=49.7 Hellhound |Worst Heat Capacity=33.3 Chimera |Torso Twist=120 |Best Torso Twist=360º Black Jack II |Worst Torso Twist=60º Black Hawk |Damage Multiplier=1.76 |Best Damage Multiplier=1.91 Hunchback |Worst Damage Multiplier=1.79 |Kill Bonus=350 |Best Kill Bonus=350 |Worst Kill Bonus=350 |Max Armor=315 |Best Max Armor=360 points Centurion |Worst Max Armor=303 points |Free Tonnage=38.6 |Best Free Tonnage=39.1 tons Black Hawk |Worst Free Tonnage=35.6 tons |base speed=79.99 |1st upgrade=0.5 |1st speed=86.00 |2nd upgrade=1.5 |2nd speed=92.02 |3rd upgrade=3.0 |3rd speed=98.03 |4th upgrade=5.0 |4th speed=104.04 |5th upgrade=7.5 |5th speed=110.05 |6th upgrade=10.5 |6th speed=116.06 |final upgrade=10.5 |top speed=116.06 |engine size=Mid |increments=6 |Second Mech Picture Link=Hellhound_weapon_mounts.jpg |Left Arm Slots=2 Slot Direct Fire |Right Arm Slots=2 Slot Direct Fire |Left Torso Slots=2 Slot Missile |Right Torso Slots=2 Slot Energy and 2 Slot Ballistic |ECM=Yes |BAP=No |Jump Jets=Yes |LAMS=Yes |Enhanced Optics=No |IFF Jammer=No |Advanced Gyro=Yes |Custom Variant=Hellhound "Bolt" - Quick sniper with PPCs and LXB autocannon |Notes=Although named the Hellhound, the aesthetic design of this 'Mech deviates quite substantially from it's namesake which can be seen here. Early and finalized concept art for it can be seen here and here, respectively. The acceleration, deceleration, and turn rate stats of the Hellhound are identical to those of the Osiris. |Gallery1=MechWarrior_Fail_Hellhound_by_Mecha_Master.jpg |Gallery1 Description=Rejected Redesign By:David White |Gallery2=MechWarrior_4_Hellhound_by_Mecha_Master.jpg |Gallery2 Description=Final Redesign By:David White |Gallery3=MechWarrior_Mercs_Wallpaper_3_by_Mecha_Master.jpg |Gallery3 Description=Splash Screen By:David White |Tech Category=Clan BattleMechs |Weight Category=Medium BattleMechs |Tonnage Category=50 }}
