Description
-
First created by Clan Star Adder as an insult  to their enemies, Clan Blood Spirit, the Blood Asp is a capable OmniMech able to mount a large number of heavy weapons such as ER PPCs or Gauss Rifles. The heavy weapons load and extensive electronics make it a match for any other assault Mech in production.

Tactical Analysis
-
Strengths<br>

-
Equipped with both ECM and BAP, the Blood Asp is one of the few Assault units able to conceal its approach until it's too late. A rare Assault chassis with 360º torso twist, it's a fearsome close quarters opponent, well able to smash or disrupt enemy defensive lines and strongholds. The weapons capability is extremely well balanced and able to be configured for a wide variety of diverse mission requirements. The weapons themselves are well distributed throughout the chassis, preventing severe degradation of its combat potential by damage to any particular section. The Omni slots allow a total of up to 12 Energy, or 10 Ballistic slots, giving it tremendous punch at any range.

-
Weaknesses<br>

-
Careful observation of the Blood Asp is vital to controlling its presence on the battlefield. It's BAP and ECM make it dangerously hard to detect and it should be crippled at long range if possible to prevent a close approach where its torso twist can be used to good effect. Its turn rate and twist speed are unremarkable however, and it is still vulnerable to close combat by smaller, more agile mechs. Its cockpit is situated on a fairly prominent nose, and is especially vulnerable when it turns to engage circling units. Wait for it to sweep its torso around, directing fire at the cockpit area with LBX Autocannons at close range. However, be aware that standing turn rates are significantly higher than those measured at full speed.
