{{Mech Description
 +
|Description=A 65 ton version of the original 60-ton Argus. This version replaces the underused missile launcher on the left art with a load out similar to that of the ballistic right arm. A major drawback of the former Argus, the lack of electronic components, has been addressed.
 +
|Strengths=Exceptional turn rates are the hallmark of this chassis' performance. The addition of the IFF Jammer and Laser AMS systems goes a long way towards providing needed protection in an active battlefield environment. The removal of the seldom used missile rack gives it additional direct fire weaponry, which is far more useful in the type of operations in which the Argus XT is commonly utilized. While its torso performance is not remarkable, the turn rate more than makes up for any lack of targeting ability. The standing turn rate of 130.8° / sec. is outstanding for a mech of its weight class, and better than that of many smaller mechs as well. Armor protection is increased and the weapons are distributed more efficiently, making the XT significantly more survivable than the original.
 +
|Weaknesses=The XT modifications improved the original chassis in many ways, but sacrifices were made to achieve these. This version no longer has the capability to carry the most powerful ballistic weaponry such as the Heavy Gauss Rifle. While total ballistic slots have been increased, these are now split into 2 groups of 3 each, limiting knockout strength. Another weapons enhancement is in energy capability, up from 4 slots to 6, though the upgrade consists of 2 single slot arm mounted weapons. This slot arrangement is more suited towards close combat than long range engagements and if the original Argus was more a second line support chassis, this is a better close combat mech.
